Chiefs' Neil Farrell Jr. can thank the Raiders for his Super Bowl LVIII ring
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Las Vegas Raiders did something that doesn't really ever happen in the NFL, especially in the AFC West. The Raiders made an in-division trade with their biggest rival.

This last season, the Raiders traded with the Kansas City Chiefs, which saw them send away Neil Farrell Jr. The Raiders drafted him with a fourth-round pick in 2022 and got a sixth-round pick in return for him by the Chiefs.

The last two weeks were tough on the Raiders. Their city and facilities were the host of Super Bowl LVIII. That means one of their two biggest rivals, the Chiefs or San Francisco 49ers, would hoist a Lombardi Trophy in their home stadium. Of course, it ended up being the Chiefs. So, seeing your biggest rival do that must be tough. But it's their own fault.

Now, looking at it, not only did that happen, but Neil Farrell won a ring with them as well.

The Raiders aren't upset by their trade, and neither team lost or won the trade. I feel like that is something we will find out after this next year. Farrell wasn't playing a ton for the Raiders, and when he did, he wasn't great. As for the Chiefs, he hasn't really played much at all.

Last year for the Raiders, he played 27% of the total defensive snaps. This year for the Chiefs, he played even less, at 20% of the total defensive snaps, and played just three games. But he did suit up for the Super Bowl and made a few plays that may not show up in the stat sheet.

Ultimately, while no one has really lost or won this trade yet, Farrell can thank the Raiders for his latest gift.
