Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes Earns Major Head-Turning Honor For NFL Season

There is no denying the greatness of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, with his spot in Canton already solidified.

However, there is also no denying that over the past couple of seasons, he hasn't been at the top of his game. This is odd to say, given that the Chiefs won the Super Bowl in 2024 and lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL's penultimate game last season.

However, Patrick's stats aren't what most have become accustomed to, with fewer passing yards and touchdowns, yet the Chiefs are still winning games.

Some think he isn't what he used to be, but PFF has ranked all 32 starting quarterbacks heading into the 2025 season, and somewhat surprisingly, Patrick comes in at No. 1.

The Chiefs' Instagram account posted the news with the caption:

"PFF ranked Patrick the No. 1 quarterback heading into this season "

Now, you could easily argue that Mahomes wasn't the best quarterback last season, with Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, and Josh Allen having better statistical seasons, yet Patrick's shadow still looms large.

Is he really the No. 1-ranked quarterback entering the season? That is quite the conversation starter, and it is clear that Mahomes' reputation precedes him here.

He has enough credits in the bank after back-to-back Super Bowl wins and then making the penultimate game for the third straight year to be still considered one of the best in football.

For others like Allen and Jackson, it is bulletin board material because, despite having better seasons, Patrick is still seen, by the outside football world, as the best in the NFL.
