The Kansas City Chiefs fell to 6-9 on the season with a 26-9 road loss to the Tennessee Titans in NFL Week 16. With just two games remaining in the regular season, Kansas City has already been eliminated from playoff contention.
It marks the first time in over a decade the Chiefs will not play in the postseason, and the first time since Patrick Mahomes became the starting quarterback that they will not reach at least the AFC Championship Game.
The Chiefs do not have time to feel sorry for themselves after the loss to the previously two-win Titans. They are back at Arrowhead Stadium for the final home game of the season on Thursday, which is also Christmas Day, against the Denver Broncos at 8:15 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime Video.
When the team got back from Nashville on Sunday night, starting cornerback Jaylen Watson came home to unfortunate news, which he shared on social media.
If the loss to the Titans and more quarterback injuries were not bad enough, Watson learned that someone had broken into his home while he was in Tennessee.
"Welp get home and my house got broken into," Watson posted on X at 11:03 p.m. ET Sunday night.

Watson did not specify if anything was stolen or provide any other details on the incident. The post drew more than 100 comments, mostly from Chiefs fans offering support to their star defensive player.
A seventh-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Watson has been a big part of the Chiefs' recent success. He was on the teams that won Super Bowl LVII and Super Bowl LVIII in his first two professional seasons out of Washington State. In 2025, Watson's PFF grade of 76.7 ranks No. 7 in the NFL out of 111 cornerbacks.
Break-ins have always been a concern for professional athletes, whose public game schedules dictate when they will be out of town. Last year, Mahomes and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce were victims in a nationwide string of high-profile burglaries of NBA and NFL athletes that led to federal charges.
The Chiefs will have the comfort of playing at home against the Broncos on Christmas, but their final game of the season will be on the road against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 18.
