Chiefs Poised To Answer 'Top 100' Question Mark at Important Position

The Kansas City Chiefs went into the 2025 NFL Draft wanting to bolster their offensive line a bit, and that is exactly what they did.

In a recent article by ESPN's Ben Solak, he puts together a list of things to know before the start of the 2025 season. Some of the things he talks about are some of the positions around the league that are a bit of a question mark, and one that he lists is the Chiefs' left tackle spot.

"I'm not sure when the Chiefs last had a bona fide good left tackle," Solak wrote. "It was potentially Orlando Brown Jr. in the 2022 season, but I'd argue he's more around league average. Kansas City would do anything for an average left tackle, however, given the way the position has limited the offense in the past couple of seasons."

Patrick Mahomes was the twelfth-most sacked quarterback this past season, so the Chiefs could be looking to sure up the protection on the edges.

The team drafted Ohio State left tackle Josh Simmons with the 32nd pick in the NFL Draft, but he is coming off of a pretty serious knee injury. They also picked up former San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Jaylon Moore, but he only started in 12 games in four years for his former team.

The Chiefs are coming off of a loss in the Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles this past season, so an improved offensive line would help the team tremendously in their effort to once again hoist the Lombardi Trophy.
