Chiefs RB Receives Good News Before Cowboys Game

The Kansas City Chiefs enter Thanksgiving fully primed to face the Dallas Cowboys. Their offense, led by Patrick Mahomes , has carried them through a turbulent season, and among his most trusted weapons this year has been Kareem Hunt.

Hunt, back with Kansas City on a one-year deal, has provided a steady, hard-nosed rushing option that complements the Chiefs’ aerial attack.

This season, Hunt’s presence has helped balance a Chiefs offense that has struggled at times to sustain drives. Through 11 games, the 30-year-old has registered 116 carries for 457 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground plus one receiving score.

Hunt’s biggest performance of the season so far came in Week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts as Kansas City rallied in overtime to win 23-20. He carried the ball 30 times for 104 yards and a touchdown, and added three receptions for 26 yards, earning the AFC’s Offensive Player of the Week honor.

With that, Hunt surpassed 500 scrimmage yards this season, and has now unlocked a $100,000 bonus. He’s now just 200 scrimmage yards away from earning an additional $25,000, according to Spotrac.

Hunt, who was selected by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, signed his current contract, a one-year deal worth up to $2.5 million back in March.

During his four-year stint in Kansas City, he’s offered the Chiefs a reliable ground-game presence and veteran production that has often helped unlock the offense when the passing game stalls. His career accolades, including a Pro Bowl and NFL rushing yards leader recognitions in 2017, speak to his experience and value.

Hunt now faces a Cowboys’ defense that limited the Philadelphia Eagles’ run game in Week 12 and held star RB Saquon Barkley to just 22 yards. However, he will hope to pad his stats and perhaps trigger that next bonus threshold when the Chiefs visit AT&T Stadium

Kickoff scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time. The game will be televised on CBS and streamed via Paramount+.
