Chiefs re-signing former 1,000-yard WR

The Kansas City Chiefs are re-signing one of their key players ahead of the start of NFL free agency.

Veteran wide receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown has agreed to a new contract with the Chiefs, according to multiple reports. The deal is reportedly worth up to $11M for one season.

Brown first signed a one-year deal with the Chiefs last offseason. It looked like he had a chance to be a huge part of the team's passing game, but he suffered a sternoclavicular injury during the preseason and was placed on injured reserve.

Brown did not make his regular-season debut with the Chiefs until Week 16. He had just nine catches for 91 yards during the regular season, but he also snagged five balls during Kansas City's latest run to the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs obviously still feel that Brown can play a significant role in their offense if healthy. Brown, a first-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2019, has had some productive NFL seasons. His best year came with the Ravens in 2021, when he caught 91 passes for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns.

Brown also spent two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals before landing in Kansas City.
