Drue Tranquill and the Kansas City Chiefs enjoyed a week off before their AFC West matchup in Week 11 of the 2025 NFL season, hitting the road to face Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos. The Chiefs are coming off a disappointing loss in Week 9, falling to Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in an AFC Championship rematch.
Since joining Kansas City ahead of the 2023 season, Tranquill has been one of Steve Spagnuolo's more reliable defenders. The former Los Angeles Chargers linebacker has helped lead defenses over the last three seasons, even securing his first Super Bowl win two seasons ago. Through nine games this year, Tranquill has tallied 40 tackles, two sacks, a fumble recovery and a pass deflection.
Tranquill has spent his entire seven-year career with his high school sweetheart, Jackie. And ahead of his final season at Notre Dame, the couple got married in Fort Wayne. Since then, the Tranquills have welcomed three kids to the world, including a son named Elijah James (6) and two daughters named Anna Grace (4) and Mackenzie Joy (2).
But on Tuesday, the couple shared more exciting news, revealing that their family of five will soon become six.
"Oh how we’ve been praying for this baby!" Drue and Jackie Tranquill wrote on Instagram. "Thank you Jesus You’ve got a whole crew who can’t wait to love on you❤️"
The Chiefs quickly took notice of Tranquill’s big news, sending a congratulatory message to the couple after the announcement.
"Congratulations Tranquills ❤️❤️❤️❤️," the Chiefs wrote in the comment section.
Tranquill and the Chiefs will look to avoid a two-game losing streak when they face the 8-2 Broncos on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.
