Chiefs rookie has already done a lot for the community by simply getting drafted to Kansas City

When the Kansas City Chiefs drafted rookie wide receiver Jalen Royals, they knew what they were getting: a guy who could really develop into something special, right there next to Xavier Worthy, Rashee Rice, and Hollywood Brown.

What they didn't know about the former Utah State wide receiver is that he would be a major help to the community already, and he hasn't even really done anything. All he has done is simply exist by getting drafted to Kansas City. But somehow, he has made the community happier.

Sure, he's made the community happier because he's another weapon for Patrick Mahomes to throw to. He's going to help fend off the Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, and Las Vegas Raiders, who are all rising in the AFC West. He's the newest guy to put on a Chiefs jersey. All of that is definitely a way he has made the community happier.

But there is something else.

The team next door, literally their stadium, is maybe 1,500 feet away from each other, and is now better because of Jalen Royals, and when the Kansas City Royals are better, the community is better.

I know what you're thinking -- how has this rookie, who doesn't even play for the Royals, but shares the same name, made the team better? Well, before Royals were drafted, the Royals were 13-14. Now, the Royals are 10-2 and playing the best baseball in the entire MLB.

Coincidence? Probably, but the names match, and they're in the same city, so we will go with the idea that it's meant to be. The Royals just swept the Chicago White Sox, which featured a game with a Bobby Witt Jr. walkoff.

As for Jalen Royals, well, we have already found out he will be wearing No. 11 his rookie year, and rookie minicamp was from May 3-5. The Chiefs are just getting things started, and hopefully, we see a successful rookie season from him.
