Chiefs should make this move next in free agency

Patrick Mahomes is still working his way back from the first major injury of his career.

However, the Kansas City Chiefs continue to operate as if he'll be on the field in Week 1.

They've brought back Eric Bieniemy to be their offensive coordinator after a brief hiatus, and they've re-signed Travis Kelce to another one-year deal.

Considering that, GM Brett Veach just needs to do one more thing to round up this nostalgia tour: Sign Tyreek Hill.

Tyreek Hill makes too much sense for the Chiefs

Losing Hill didn't hurt the Chiefs too much. They won two Super Bowls after his shocking trade to the Miami Dolphins.

However, their passing game hasn't been the same without Hill and Bieniemy, and they've failed to find another deep-play specialist for Mahomes.

Granted, Hill's best years might be behind him, and he's coming off a major injury -- not to mention with major baggage for his constant scandals off the field.

That said, perhaps the Chiefs could get him on a hometown discount, and they don't have much talent at wide receiver.

JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquise "Hollywood" Brown will most likely leave in free agency, and Rashee Rice might face another suspension for violating the league's conduct policy.

Hill's not going to be a long-term solution, and chances are that he's not the speedy playmaker who terrified defenders with his ability to shake off coverage and get off to the races.

Still, if he can give them 75 percent of what he gave the Miami Dolphins two years ago, the Chiefs have a legitimate chance to get back to the mountaintop.
