Chiefs smack Ravens and send AFC West warning the Chargers can’t ignore

Remember when the Kansas City Chiefs were 0-2 and people couldn't wait to bury them and say that the dynasty was officially over? Fast forward two weeks later and the Chiefs are back to .500 and looking like the Chiefs we know and love and everyone else knows and hates.

Not only are the Chiefs suddenly 2-2 and officially out of the basement thanks to the blocked field goal that prevented the Raiders from winning (hilarious, by the way), but the Chargers lost their first game of the year. That means that the Chargers, who were the darlings of the NFL through the first three weeks, are now 3-1, and while they have the tiebreaker over K.C., they just lost to a rookie quarterback making his first-ever start. Talk about a confidence killer.

When the Chargers were 3-0 and the Chiefs had struggled to get past the Giants to move to 1-2, the rumblings of the AFC West no longer going through Kansas City certainly seemed to grow louder. Hey, it made sense too. The Chargers were undefeated and looked good, while the Chiefs barely got by the Giants and were 1-2. We've now seen that there's a reason why we don't form bold opinions this early in the season, because things can change in a hurry.

Chiefs right back in AFC West race after Week 4 win and Chargers loss

The Chiefs didn't just beat the Ravens in Week 4; they smacked them right in the mouth. It's worth noting that Baltimore has a ton of injuries, but even still, the Chiefs did exactly what they needed to do. The Chiefs teams in recent years would have still found a way to let that game come down to the wire so it's a good sign to see this year's squad winning both of their games by double digits.

With 13 games remaining in the regular season, the Chiefs are 100% still in the AFC West title race, especially now that the Chargers might be without Joe Alt moving forward due to injury. That takes both of Justin Herbert's starting tackles away and Chiefs fans know that pain all too well. The division might be more competitive but the AFC West is still the Chiefs' to win until another team officially pries it away from them.
