Once again, late-game blunders cost the Kansas City Chiefs a win.
This time, they had the defending Super Bowl champions against the ropes, but another miscue by Travis Kelce sealed their fate. However, that wasn't the biggest storyline of the afternoon. Instead, the now-infamous tush push became a talking point again.
Replays showed the Philadelphia Eagles getting away with multiple no-calls running that play, with guards Landon Dickerson and Tyler Steen beating the snap and/or center Cam Jurgens clearly lined up offsides. That's why Chiefs star defensive tackle Chris Jones called the referees out after the game.
"You can’t get all the calls right," Jones told the media. "Just because we see it, sometimes the official is 15, 20 feet away and sometimes they can miss those small things. We think he jumped multiple times. The official didn’t see it, so it wasn’t called. We just got to go play the next down."
The Eagles have found success with this play because of their massive offensive line. However, as difficult as it might be to stop, it's borderline impossible when the guards are allowed to move ahead of the snap.
The Eagles commit about 5 penalties during a Tush Push, and the NFL just doesn’t call them.

Multiple teams have tried to ban this play, but to no avail. Technically, they could just try to replicate this formula and run their own version of it.
Still, no one has done it with more success than Nick Sirianni's team. While it wouldn't be fair to put it all on the referees, they clearly had plenty to do with it in Week 2. Whether they will now change the way they officiate after all this fuss remains to be seen.
