Chiefs teammates recall Super Bowl LX experience

“Every time we watch these videos of him (Walker), it’s always in the Super Bowl, and I just have to look away sometimes,” Tonga said, according to Chiefs Wire on August 10. “I’m so glad we’re on the same side now. In practice, he definitely makes us work on the defensive side.”

Tonga recorded one assisted tackle in the loss. Now, instead of trying to stop Walker, he gets to see what the running back can do in practice every day.

Both players are expected to help Kansas City bounce back from its 6-11 season and get back to the playoffs in 2026.

While the Chiefs still have questions to sort out on the field, they also welcomed an important return to the practice field.

Could this return give the Chiefs a boost at camp?

Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy has returned to practice after stepping away from the team to be with his family.

Eric Bieniemy told fans as he walked to practice Monday, “It’s great to be back, according to The Athletic.

Bieniemy left the Chiefs after his wife, Mia Bieniemy, was injured in late July. She was taken to a local hospital and was later listed in stable condition.

“She’s doing better now,” said Mahomes, who is trying to fully recover from a torn ACL in December in time for Week 1. “So, it’s always great to hear the news from him about her, and it’s been good to talk to him.”

Even while away, Bieniemy stayed in touch with the Chiefs. Mahomes added that Bieniemy kept talking with players about their work.

“I mean, he’s still ‘EB.’ It’s not like he’s not ‘EB.’ And so he’s calling you at the end of the night and talking to you about kind of throughout the day and all the plays and stuff like that,” Mahomes added.

Mahomes also stated that the team is happy to see him again but wants him to take whatever time he needs with family.
