The Kansas City Chiefs will host several 2025 NFL draft prospects on Monday, April 7, at the University of Kansas Health System Training Facility for the team's annual local prospect day.

The local pro day is an essential staple in Kansas City's pre-draft process because Chiefs GM Brett Veach insists on keeping top talent from his backyard when he can. Not everyone who is invited to the pro day will participate in workouts. Sometimes, it's just another opportunity for prospects to meet with the team and make an impression.

What makes a "local" prospect? They either attended a high school in the Kansas City metropolitan area or played for a university within a certain mile radius of the club. They'll host some surefire draft picks and prospects who are only likely to catch on with NFL teams as undrafted free agents after proving themselves in the offseason.

Several players who have attended the pro day event in the past have been signed as undrafted free agents or will receive an invitation to the team's rookie minicamp in May. TE Gerrit Prince and CB Ekow Boye-Doe earned Super Bowl rings with Kansas City, joining the Chiefs after attending a local pro day.

Here's a quick look at a few of the players who have been invited to the local pro day this year:

Kansas State LT Easton Kilty

Kilty is a Stratford, Wisconsin native, but he gets to attend the local pro day as a Kansas State Wildcat.

"A North Dakota transfer, Kilty projects as an interior offensive lineman at the next level, weighing in at 6-foot-5 and 305 pounds. Kilty allowed just one sack and nine total pressures in 13 starts at left tackle in 2024."

Oklahoma State C Joe Michalski

Michalski attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Overland Park, Kansas, before playing for the Cowboys in college, where he appeared in 57 games over five seasons.

Over the past two seasons, Michalski (6-foot-4 and 300 pounds) allowed just one sack and 14 total pressures in over 1,100 pass-blocking snaps with a single penalty, according to PFF.

Concordia RB Jaylin Richardson

Richardson is a Kansas City, Kansas native who attended FL Schlagle High School.

Listed at 6-foot and 205 pounds, Richardson earned First Team All-NSIC Honors for two consecutive seasons. During that span, Richardson appeared in 22 games, recording 431 carries for 2,099 yards and 20 rushing touchdowns, adding 42 catches for 370 yards and one receiving touchdown. As a senior in 2024, he averaged 105 rushing yards per game.

Outside of his production, Richardson is known for hurdling defenders and being a tough tackle. He rarely goes down on first contact and often fights for extra yards.

Kansas RT Logan Brown

A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Brown gets to attend the local pro day as a member of the Kansas Jayhawks. He played four years at Wisconsin before transferring and taking redshit as a Junior with the Jayhawks in 2023.

A one-year starter at right tackle for Kansas, Brown allowed just six pressures in 12 games played in 2024. He measured 6-foot-6 and 311 pounds at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine.

Iowa LT Mason Richman

A Leawood, Kansas native who attended Blue Valley High School, Richman (6-foot-6 and 314 pounds), started 52 out of 55 possible games in his five seasons at Iowa. The 2024 college football season marked his best year yet with the Hawkeyes, allowing two sacks and just seven total pressures and a single penalty on 317 pass-blocking snaps, according to PFF.

Kansas DE Dylan Wudke

Wudke is a Miamisburg, Ohio native and will attend the Chiefs' local day as a representative of the Kansas Jayhawks. Listed at 6-foot-4 and 260 pounds, Wudke recorded 23 total tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack, and one fumbled recovery in 12 games played last season.

Before his time at Kansas, Wudke played five seasons at Youngstown State, starting 35 games.

Missouri OL Cam'Ron Johnson

Listed at 6-foot-4 and 305 pounds, Johnson is a Houston, Texas native who will represent the University of Missouri at the Chiefs' local pro day. Johnson spent two seasons at the University of Houston before transferring to Mizzou for the 2023 and 2024 college football seasons.

In his two seasons with the Tigers, Johnson allowed four sacks and 28 total pressures (per PFF) while starting 24 games at right guard.

Kansas S Marvin Grant Jr.

Listed at 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, Grant split his time at Purdue and Kansas over the past six years. He's played in 58 career games, with 254 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, three sacks, 11 passes defended, and four forced fumbles.

A Detroit, Michigan native, Grant will represent the Kansas Jayhawks at the Chiefs' local pro day.

Oregon CB Dontae Manning

A Kansas City, Missouri native who played at Raytown High School, Manning appeared in 54 games for Oregon over five seasons. He recorded 80 total tackles, 14 passes defended, and two interceptions.

A combine snub, Manning (5-foot-11, 184 pounds) impressed at his pro day, posting a 4.26s 40-yard dash, 39.5-inch vertical, A 126-inch broad jump, and a 4.38s short shuttle.

Missouri Western State WR Jonas Bennett

KQ2's Brett Kennedy reports that Bennett will attend the Chiefs' local day. Over the past two seasons for the Griffons, Bennett (6-foot, 205 pounds) recorded  129 receptions for 1,708 yards and eight touchdowns. Missouri Western State University, of course, is home of the Chiefs' annual training camp.
