Chiefs trade back with Eagles to get back to their normal draft spot

The Kansas City Chiefs have a proven history of moving off of their original position in the given draft order during the Brett Veach era, so it's no surprise to see them doing so again in the 2025 NFL Draft. The surprise, however, in this instance is that Veach was willing to move back. Veach has always been seen as a bit of a maverick around the National Football League with his penchant for always moving up, from the very first pick in his tenure when he moved up in the 2018 NFL Draft's second round to get pass rusher Breeland Speaks. (That one didn't work out so well, but things have improved since then.) On Thursday's opening round, the Chiefs worked out a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles to send No. 31 in exchange for the No. 32 pick—just sliding back a single spot.
