Chiefs’ Travis Kelce Doesn’t Hold Back On Super Bowl Excitement
Sam Greene/The Enquirer / USA TODAY NETWORK

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been there and done that when it comes to playing in Super Bowls, so this Sunday’s championship matchup with the San Francisco 49ers is nothing new to him.

That doesn’t mean Kelce isn’t amped, however.

During his media availability on Tuesday, Kelce spoke about his elation for his fourth Super Bowl appearance.

“Ain’t no jitters for me, baby. I’m excited for this one, man,” Kelce said, via Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. “I’m excited for the challenge. I know it’s going to be our biggest challenge yet. There’s no doubt seeping in. We’ve got a great football team and we’re going up against a great football team, and it’s going to be one for the ages. I’m just excited about it.”

This has certainly been the strangest Super Bowl ride the Chiefs have been on since they started contending for titles back in 2019.

Kansas City got off to a 6-1 start this season, but proceeded to go 3-5 over its next eight games. The Chiefs went on to win their last two contests to finish 11-6 and capture their eighth straight AFC West division title, but something didn’t seem quite right with the club.

But, the Chiefs have been able to right the ship in the playoffs, thanks much in part to some superb play from Kelce.

After an up and down regular season, Kelce has shown up in a big way in the postseason, most recently hauling in 11 receptions for 116 yards and a touchdown in Kansas City’s AFC Championship Game win over the Baltimore Ravens. He also reached the end zone twice in the team’s Divisional Round victory against the Buffalo Bills.

“I’m fired up,” added Kelce. “I’m ready to get this show on the road. Put these pads on and get this game rockin’.”

We’ll see if Travis Kelce can continue to deliver versus the fierce 49ers’ defense in the Super Bowl this Sunday.

The Chiefs will be aiming to win their third championship in five years.
