Chiefs' Travis Kelce Predicted to Make History in AFC Title Game vs. Bills

Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce has been a regular season beast across his 12-year NFL career, amassing north of 1,000 receptions for more than 12,000 receiving yards and 77 touchdowns on his way to 10 consecutive Pro Bowls.

But playoff Kelce is a different animal altogether.

He showed that again during the divisional round, putting up 7 catches for 117 yards and a score in the Chiefs' win over the Houston Texans. That stat line was extra significant in that it tied Kelce with legendary wide receiver Jerry Rice for the most 100-yard receiving games in playoff history with a total of nine.

On Thursday, Jan. 23, Jake Rill of Bleacher Report predicted that Kelce will break that record this Sunday when Kansas City hosts the Buffalo Bills in the AFC championship game at Arrowhead Stadium.

"Although Kelce hasn't put up huge yardage totals this season, don't be surprised if he exceeds the century mark again this week," Rill wrote . "He is clearly taking his game to another level while trying to lead Kansas City to its third straight Super Bowl title. There should be plenty of opportunities for Kelce to catch the ball, as quarterback Patrick Mahomes will likely be throwing it his way often."

Kelce can also potentially catch Rice for the most receiving touchdowns in playoff history if he can find the end zone twice against the Bills. Kelce currently has 20 postseason TD receptions to his name, while Rice caught 22 passes in the end zone over the course of his playoff career.
