BREAKING: Chop Robinson Carted off Practice Field

Miami Dolphins second-year edge rusher Chop Robinson was carted off the practice field early in the joint practice session on Wednesday with the Detroit Lions.

The 22-year-old 2024 first-round pick of the Miami Dolphins had six sacks last season as a rookie and was expected to have a larger role for the Dolphins this year.

We have seen in recent practices that players with cramps have been carted off the field, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here as Chop was seen favoring his arm/shoulder as he was leaving the field.

The Dolphins do have Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips returning this season, both of whom missed last season (Phillips played a few games before being re-injured)

Chubb is coming off his 3rd ACL surgery and took a massive pay cut to return. You have to wonder if he is the same player he was before his latest injury being that it is a 3rd ACL injury, and 2nd on one knee.

Phillips is coming off back-to-back Achilles injuries and an ACL injury. He is in a contract year, so he will be motivated for a big payday, but is he the same player he was prior to his injury?

If this injury is season-ending, I would expect Miami to be looking on the open market to add another edge rusher.

Matthew Judon (who Chris Grier tried trading for last season) is unsigned at this time, as is Za’Darius Smith. Preston Smith and DeMarcus Walker are two other names to keep an eye on as well.

Chop is in store for a much larger role this season and is expected to be Miami’s primary edge rusher.

He is also a building block piece as the Dolphins are in this pause/reset/rebuilding season. So, you wanted to see more out of him this year to ensure he is someone you can build your defense around along with Zach Sieler and Kenneth Grant (hopefully).

Again, if this is something minor and he is back soon or even later this season, then all is not lost.

If this injury is major, then it would be a huge blow to the Dolphins’ organization.
