Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones is done trying to swap jerseys with Russell Wilson.

Jones sacked Wilson on Sunday night during the Chiefs’ 22-9 Week 3 win over the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Before the game, Jones revealed that he has tried to swap jerseys with Wilson for years dating back to when Wilson was a star quarterback with the Seattle Seahawks.

Now, Jones is no longer interested in the exchange. NBC’s Melissa Stark asked Jones following Sunday night’s game about his failed pursuit of Wilson’s jersey.

“I’ve never gotten it. I don’t even want it. It’s all good. I don’t want it,” Jones said. “You know, over time you kind of understand that, now I don’t even want it. There’s love in war.”

Wilson’s play has fallen off a cliff in recent years. He struggled mightily against Jones and Kansas City’s defense, finishing 18/32 for 160 yards, no touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Some have speculated that Jones no longer wants Wilson’s jersey because Wilson is not nearly the same player he was years ago.

Whatever the case, Jones has moved on from trying to secure that particular souvenir. As someone who has been trolled during jersey swaps in the past, Wilson might be fine with not having to exchange one with Jones.
