Christian Kirk had a disappointing, injury-filled 2024 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, only playing in eight games. He was traded to the Houston Texans for a 2026 seventh-round pick and should be their new slot wide receiver with Tank Dell expected to miss most of the 2025 season. What is Christian Kirk’s fantasy football outlook on the Texans?

Fantasy Football Outlook for Christian Kirk

Historical Production

Kirk spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Cardinals, only finishing as a top-30 fantasy wide receiver one time. He went to the Jaguars before the 2022 season and had a career year, finishing as the WR11 in fantasy. However, he has struggled to stay on the field since. He played in twelve games in 2023, dealing with a core muscle injury, and played in eight games in 2024 after breaking his collarbone. The Jaguars were expected to release Kirk, but they were able to find a trade partner in the Texans, who gave up a seventh-round pick in 2026.

Christian Kirk Fantasy Football Value Pre-Trade

According to KeepTradeCut, a website that crowdsources dynasty values from players that use the site, Kirk is the WR69. He is in the same range as Dontayvion Wicks, Demario Douglas, Isaiah Bond, Stefon Diggs, Marquise Brown, and Wan’Dale Robinson. There are some veteran players and some younger players in this tier. He is worth an early third-round pick in dynasty rookie drafts.

When he was healthy last season, he did not see much production. He had 27 receptions in the eight games he played. He was behind the rookie sensation Brian Thomas Jr., Gabe Davis, and tight end Evan Engram, who was also just released. Kirk was the fourth option for quarterback Trevor Lawrence. He was being faded out of the offense, so the trade to the Texans gives him a fresh start.

Christian Kirk Fantasy Football Outlook Post-Trade

Kirk joins a young, exciting Texans team. They have a superstar wide receiver in Nico Collins, but there are questions about the rest of the receiver room. Stefon Diggs is coming off a torn ACL and is a free agent. Tank Dell is coming off a serious knee injury and is expected to miss most of the 2025 season. Quarterback C.J. Stroud needs another wide receiver opposite of Collins to throw the ball to, and Kirk immediately becomes that guy. Kirk goes from being the 4th option on the Jaguars to the 2nd option on the Texans. His fantasy football outlook and dynasty value will be on the rise in the coming weeks.

The Texans could always draft another wide receiver in the 2025 NFL Draft, and they have been linked to multiple names in the first round of mock drafts. However, after making this trade, they will probably look elsewhere in the first round and maybe draft a wide receiver later in the draft. Kirk should enter the season as the WR2 for the Texans unless they sign another receiver in free agency.

What to Do With Christian Kirk in Dynasty Leagues?

Kirk only has one year left on his contract, but he is in a good situation entering 2025. He’s on a team with a young quarterback and a new offensive coordinator. WR69 is currently undervaluing him, so try to trade for Kirk. This trade will not generate as much hype as other trades, such as the Deebo Samuel trade or the DK Metcalf trade if it happens. Take advantage of this and get an underrated player in Kirk, who should provide solid WR3/FLEX value in fantasy leagues in 2025.
