McCaffrey seems pretty excited about his new deal, too, and it's making him the highest-paid running back in NFL history.
Christian McCaffrey: “I’m so excited to continue my career in Carolina. I want to thank Mr. Tepper, Marty Hurney, and Coach Rhule for the opportunity to help lead this great franchise, and to all my teammates for their help along the way. And to Panthers fans, KEEP POUNDING!”

He's heading into his fourth season with the Panthers, and rushed for 1,387 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2019 while also adding 1,005 yards receiving with four touchdowns.
McCaffrey will be a major factor in Matt Rhule's offense in the coming years, so it's no surprise as to why Carolina wanted to get him under contract for a long time.
The elusive running back also will get to work with a solid quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater in the coming seasons, so the Panthers may be on the up and up after all.
