Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow Makes Encouraging Appearance
Cara Owsley/The Enquirer / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Cincinnati Bengals had a rough end to the 2023 NFL season. After making the AFC Championship the prior season, the Bengals missed out on the playoffs entirely in 2023. A big reason for this was the health of QB Joe Burrow.

Now, Cincinnati fans are hoping Burrow will be fully healthy heading into the 2024 NFL season. Today, there was an encouraging update on Burrow for these Bengals fans.

Joe Burrow Enters Cincinnati Bengals Facility

Earlier today, the Cincinnati Bengals social media team shared this video of their training facility. Why is it relevant? Because Joe Burrow was seen walking onto the field while wearing a jersey.

Although he did not have any cleats on and entered the field wearing flip flops, this is still an encouraging sign. Considering there are still four months remaining until the regular season, this video should give Bengals fans more confidence Burrow will be ready to go by the 2024 kickoff.

Catastrophic Injuries

Burrow only played 10 of 17 games for the Bengals last season. He missed the final two months of the season due to a catastrophic injury Burrow suffered against the Baltimore Ravens. This injury was a torn ligament in his right wrist. To add insult to injury, this is Burrow’s throwing hand.

Many felt that the Bengals’ season was over once this injury occurred. However, Cincinnati did not go down quietly thanks to the strong effort provided by Jake Browning. Unfortunately, the injury was too much to overcome, and the Bengals fell one game shy of making the playoffs last season.

If that was not enough, Burrow was also dealing with health issues before the 2023 NFL season even started. That is because Burrow suffered a calf injury during training camp last year. Then, he ended up tweaking this calf during Week 2 of the regular season.

Cincinnati Bengals Moving Forward

Bengals fans would likely argue that 2024 is a revenge season. That is because there is a legitimate argument that injuries held the Bengals back in 2023. Now, Cincinnati will attempt to run it back one more time next season.

The Bengals made the AFC Championship during the 2022 season and made the Super Bowl during the 2021 season. This is quite the accomplishment considering the Bengals are one of only two teams to win the AFC Championship since 2019. The Kansas City Chiefs won the AFC Championship in the four other seasons during this stretch. Now, Burrow and the Bengals look to finish the job and win the Super Bowl next season.
