Cincinnati mayor trolls Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City

As Chiefs TE Travis Kelce puts it, the Bengals and their fans have provided his team with plenty of "bulletin board material" heading into Sunday's AFC Championship Game. One of the latest to join in on the trolling is the mayor of Cincinnati, Aftab Pureval.

On Friday, Pureval tweeted a video joking about Bengals QB Joe Burrow's spotless head-to-head record against Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes

"Joseph Lee Burrow, who's 3-0 against Mahomes, has been asked by officials to take a paternity test to confirm whether or not he's his father," the mayor teased.

Toward the end of the video, Pureval poked fun at Kansas City, kidding that the city's name derives from their neighboring state, which is "kind of weird." He concludes by proclaiming Jan. 29, 2023, as "They Gotta Play Us Day" in Cincinnati.

Friday's tweet wasn't Pureval's first shot at the Chiefs this week. During a city council meeting on Wednesday, Pureval announced he'll be at "Burrowhead Stadium" on Sunday and plans to talk a lot of trash to Kansas City mayor Quinton Lucas.

Bengals CB Mike Hilton coined the "Burrowhead" moniker on the sidelines during Cincinnati's win over Buffalo in the divisional round.

Kansas City has heard the chatter, and its players are throwing shade back. LB Willie Gay says "nothing" about Cincinnati's offense impresses him, and DT Chris Jones closed out his Friday news conference by saying, "See you all at Burrowhead Stadium.".

The enthusiasm from both sides sets up an exciting game to determine who’ll advance to Super Bowl LVII. Pureval and the rest of Cincinnati better hope the Bengals beat Kansas City. The "OldTakesExposed" Twitter account will have a field day if they don't.

The Chiefs are a one-and-a-half point favorite against the Bengals, according to Oddschecker.
