C.J. Stroud will love latest NFL coaching news

The Houston Texans received a double dose of great news on Tuesday evening. C.J. Stroud and the offense will be especially happy.

Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik and quarterbacks coach Jerrod Johnson are staying in Houston after taking interviews with other teams.

Texans OC Bobby Slowik has agreed to a new deal in Houston within the past few days, one that includes a significant raise, per sources. Slowik impressed multiple NFL clubs thru the interview process.

But he's sticking in Houston. He'll be a hot name in 2025.

Slowik was one of the most sought-after candidates for open head coaching spots this offseason. With only a couple left, he is choosing to stay in Houston. He was the play caller for C.J. Stroud and the offense.

Stroud, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 draft, finished the regular season with 4,108 passing yards and 23 pass touchdowns. The Texans had one of the top offenses in the AFC. Accordingly, he is getting a nice raise from the Texans.

Expect him to be another popular candidate in 2025 for HC openings.

As for Johnson, he provides more continuity for a rising, young staff. He gets a raise and extension from Houston as well. Well deserved.

He, along with Slowik and Demeco Ryans, are a trio that Houston will be quite glad to have around for at least one more season. Stroud may be the most excited of the bunch.
