The 2025 NFL season couldn't have started better for San Francisco 49ers star tight end George Kittle who racked up four catches for 25 yards and a touchdown through the first 20 minutes of action against the Seattle Seahawks.
Unfortunately for Kittle, the good times didn't last. He suffered a hamstring injury with 10:05 left to play in the second quarter and was spotted on the sidelines with a ball cap on while the rest of the starting offense was on the field, signaling his day was done.
"Losing Kittle in that game was big for us," head coach Kyle Shanahan said after the game. "He was a huge part of the game plan as you guys saw earlier. [We had] to move some guys around, and those guys stepped up big, man, especially at the end, the game winner. [I'm] real proud of him."
Despite watching her husband suffering a game-ending injury, Claire Kittle made the day of one young 49ers fan who showed up to the game with a sign that read, "I'm here for Claire Bear."
According to a post from the child's mother, Kittle took the time to FaceTime the young fan and signed his poster.
"honestly, what a weekend for knox! a full 24 hours of football..starting off with his first UW game! first 49ers game..brought home the W with the winning td right in front of him! but the topper was FaceTiming @clairekittle and then getting his sign autographed! ❤️ Nana + Steve made it all happen!" the post on Instagram read.
Kittle later took to Instagram with the message, "Hi buddy hope you had fun!"
Meanwhile, her husband is set to undergo an MRI to determine the severity of his hamstring injury. He missed two games during the 2024 season with hamstring injuries - in Weeks 3 and 11.
