Cleveland Adds two Players to Practice Squad on Tuesday

The Cleveland Browns continue to be very busy tweaking the practice squad. On Tuesday afternoon, the Browns announced the signing of cornerback Myles Bryant and tight end John FitzPatrick, while releasing cornerback D’Angelo Ross and tight end Messiah Swinson to make room.

The team also released offensive guard Kendrick Green from injured reserve in another move. Ross has bounced back and forth after spending time with the team in training camp and preseason, while being released and signed once already, so it’s very possible he is back at some point.

Myles Bryant, John FitzPatrick Each Have NFL Experience

Bryant returns to the practice squad from the Browns, where he previously spent some time. He has some extensive experience in the NFL, playing in 77 career games, mostly with the New England Patriots.

The undrafted free agent from the University of Washington made his NFL debut in the COVID-19 season of 2020, appearing in nine games for the Patriots, making nine solo tackles with 12 stops and one interception.

In 2021, Bryant played in 12 games, recording 28 solo tackles, 41 stops, a sack, a forced fumble and an interception with three passes defensed. He pushed that to 45 solo stops and 70 tackles with a pick in 2022, and a career-high 65 solo tackles, 77 total stops, a sack, a career-best two forced fumbles and an interception with seven passes defensed in 2023.

Bryant went to the Houston Texans in 2024, and he allowed in 11 games, tumbling to just 14 total stops with 11 solo tackles, while he had 22 solo tackles and 40 stops in 2025, also in 11 games. However, he hasn’t had a pick, sack or forced fumble since 2023. Bryant is one of two cornerbacks on the practice squad, joining undrafted rookie and preseason darling Michael Coats Jr.

For FitzPatrick, he was a sixth-round pick, No. 213 overall, by the Atlanta Falcons out of the University of Georgia. He appeared in nine games for Atlanta, making one catch for 12 yards. In 2024, he moved to the Green Bay Packers, and he had just a single two-yard grab in nine games. His most time came in 2025, playing in 15 games, making 12 catches for 72 yards and his first NFL touchdown on 15 targets.
