The Cleveland Browns need to address the tight end position, with multiple players currently free agents. David Njoku bid farewell to Cleveland two weeks ago after nine productive seasons and a Pro Bowl selection, while the Browns are not expected to place a restricted free-agent tender on Blake Whiteheart, making him an unrestricted free agent. The team needs a blocking tight end, as Harold Fannin Jr. isn’t considered a strong blocker, and to fill the void left by Njoku.
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Browns have signed Jack Stoll to a one-year contract. The one-time Super Bowl champion is on his fifth team and enters his sixth year in the NFL. Stoll is recognized as a strong blocker capable of both pass protection and run blocking. However, he isn’t a threat as a receiver, totaling only 244 career yards and one touchdown, including a career-high of 123 yards in 2022.
The Browns have agreed to terms with tight end Jack Stoll on a one-year deal, per source.

The New Orleans Saints signed Jack Stoll to a one-year contract last March but released him during roster cuts, later signing him to the practice squad and promoting him to the active roster ahead of Week 1. He hauled in six passes on 11 targets for 46 yards and one touchdown across 15 games, including four starts, accounting for 209 offensive snaps, the fourth-highest by a tight end on the team. Stoll lined up in-line 70% of his snaps in 2025 and 10% in the backfield, while 76% of his total snaps were spent blocking, including 30 pass-blocking reps, per PFF.
For comparison, PFF logged Harold Fannin Jr. with lining up in-line on 52% of his 786 offensive snaps and 6% in the backfield, while 40% of his total snaps were spent blocking, including 28 pass-blocking reps.
