Cleveland Browns Facing Immense Pressure to Consider 1 Shocking Decision

Kevin Stefanski and the Cleveland Browns have started off the 2025 NFL season with an 0-2 record. Through the first two weeks, there haven’t been many reasons for optimism surrounding the team.

While it was always a long shot for the Browns to be a playoff contender, fans were hoping to see some improvements from last year. So far, that simply has not been the case.

Joe Flacco hasn’t looked good as the team’s starting quarterback. The defense has been fine, but not good enough. And the overall feeling about Cleveland still being stuck below mediocrity persists.

Following the slow start to the 2025 season, the Browns are facing pressure to start considering making a major change.

Cleveland Browns Facing Immense Pressure to Consider 1 Shocking Decision

On Thursday morning, Tony Rizzo made a strong statement during an appearance on ESPN Cleveland’s “The Really Big Show.” He believes that it’s time to start pointing the finger at Stefanski.

“The offense sucks right now. Our coach is an offensive coach,” Rizzo said. “You’re riding a big losing streak… At what point are they going to start pointing the finger at Kevin Stefanski?”

He continued on, going into more detail about his issue with the Cleveland head coach.

“The Browns are still beating themselves. That’s coaching,” Rizzo added. “I watch guys go and turn programs around in one year and they’re just disciplined; don’t beat yourself, no pre-snap penalties. Yet this is something that has happened here for six years and we keep having to go through it… I’m looking at a terrible football team and you don’t want me to talk about the coach.”

Since taking over as the Browns’ head coach back in the 2020 season, Stefanski has led the team to a 40-46 record and has made the playoffs twice. That simply isn’t getting the job done.

That isn’t to say that every issue should be placed on Stefanski’s shoulders. Cleveland still hasn’t figured things out at the quarterback position. There have also been plenty of off the field situations that have caused drama for the team.

Unfortunately, a team’s lack of success usually falls on the shoulder of its head coach. It’s quite possible that the Browns will consider making a coaching change after the 2025 season if things don’t turn around in the coming weeks.
