The Cleveland Browns could use depth at several key positions, with OTAs wrapping up and the approach of training camp. There are plenty of veterans still unsigned; defensive line and secondary are the positions that need a veteran presence.

Following the Myles Garrett trade, the Browns still have a solid edge-rusher rotation, but the defensive line could still use more depth. Looking to the secondary, after Denzel Ward and Tysen Campbell, the cornerback room becomes pretty thin. Below are available free agents Cleveland should consider signing to strengthen the roster and add much-needed depth.

Joey Bosa (EDGE)

2025 Stats (BUF): 5 SACK, 5 FF, 17 SOLO

Joey Bosa joined the Buffalo Bills last season after spending his first nine years with the Chargers. At just 30 years old, he can still make an impact off the edge. In 2025, his sack production wasn’t off the charts, but he still forced five fumbles and recorded six stuffs. The role Bosa would have for the Cleveland Browns would likely be similar to the one he played last season for the Bills.

A rotational edge rusher with the juice and pass-rush arsenal of a player like Bosa would free up Jared Verse in a big way. This move would also take some pressure off Alex Wright and Isaiah McGuire, who are developing into solid players. If Cleveland wants to compete at a high level, the continued growth of the defensive line will be a key part of that success. Losing a perennial All-Pro is never easy, but replacing him with a solid veteran like Bosa would still show that this team wants to compete.

The chances of Bosa returning to his Chargers form are slim, but he played in 15 games last season and contributed to the success of many players around him. This signing not only helps the Cleveland Browns this season, but also gives you a mentor who can further the development of your pass rushers.

Kenny Moore (CB)

2025 Stats (IND): 1 INT, 2 FF, 6 PD, 34 SOLO

The current starting nickel cornerback is Myles Harden. Nothing against Harden, but he struggled mightily last season against the run and finishing tackles. Kenny Moore has been one of the best inside corners for years now, and would elevate the Browns’ cornerback room massively. The big three of Ward, Campbell, and Moore would be atop the league in terms of talent.

Moore thrives as a true nickel cornerback. As a run defender, he’s one of the best in football with an 84.4 PFF grade ranking him fifth amongst his position. Another area of his game that doesn’t get enough credit is his ability to be used as a rusher. In 2025, he had the most pass rush snaps among all the corners in the league. The Cleveland Browns would be getting a do-it-all corner that brings a veteran presence to a young room.

Surprisingly, Moore remains unsigned in June, but his age and size could play into that. At 32 years old, Moore has played 90 games since 2020, leaving teams with questions about how much he has left in the tank. For Cleveland, signing Moore to a one year deal and solidifying the nickel corner position gives this secondary much-needed depth and experience.

Najee Harris (RB)

2025 Stats (LAC): Injured Week 3

Najee Harris is familiar with AFC North football, after playing for the Steelers for four seasons. In 2025, Harris signed with the Chargers and, unfortunately, tore his Achilles tendon in week three, missing the remainder of the season. At just 28 years old, Harris still has gas in the tank and could complement Cleveland’s young running back room. Quinshon Judkins is the workhorse and future at the position for the Browns, but he could use some help behind him. Dylan Sampson saw limited action in his rookie season, but looks to be used mainly as a third-down/receiving back.

Todd Monken emphasized how much he wants to run the football, and adding another versatile back could transform this rushing attack. While the Cleveland Browns could make do with their current running back room, adding a veteran for depth and competition couldn’t hurt. Harris visited teams this offseason for workouts in hopes of being picked up, but remains unsigned.

Harris, in his first four seasons in Pittsburgh, posted 1,000-yard seasons in all of them. The former first round pick could make an impact for a team looking for depth in their running back room.

Keenan Allen (WR)

2025 Stats (LAC): 81 REC, 777 YDS, 4 TDS

While the Browns’ receiving room is much improved this season, they could still use a reliable veteran. Allen has been one of the best and most consistent receivers in football over the past decade. Whoever is playing quarterback needs a reliable target who makes crisp routes and catches the football. Drops have been a major issue for this teams wideouts over the past couple of seasons, and nobody has more consistent hands than Allen.

Entering his age-34 season, Allen won’t have to be the WR1 for this offense, but rather get five to eight targets a game and make an impact off the field, mentoring. Receivers like Cedric Tillman, Jamari Thrash, and Malachi Corley aren’t guaranteed roster spots, giving this room even more competition with the addition of Allen. Even at 33 years old last year, Allen still caught 81 passes and had over 750 yards receiving.

While Cleveland views their WR room as much improved, adding a former elite receiver to the mix would only help the young receivers’ development.

End Of My Cleveland Browns Free Agents Rant

While the majority of these players are past their primes, they can make an impact on a Cleveland Browns roster with playoff aspirations. If they want to be a contending team, the Browns need quality veterans who provide value both on and off the field.
