There were 14 players missing in the Cleveland Browns’ voluntary OTAs on Wednesday, including notable names like Myles Garrett, Diontae Johnson and Greg Newsome II.
However, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski did not seem to be too bothered by it, opting not to put too much stock in it.
“It’s really important to remember that this is a voluntary program and anybody who’s here, we’re excited about that,” Stefanski said (h/t Mary Kay Cabot, cleveland.com). “We’re not reporting who’s here on what day. So, there are guys that will be in and out of the program and that is totally their prerogative. But the guys that are here will just continue to work.”
The Browns are looking to turn things around and bounce back from a three-win 2024 season, with Garrett, Johnson and Newsome among those expected to deliver the goods on the field.
As the Browns are starting their work on the field to prepare for the 2025 NFL season, Garrett is on the other hemisphere. His appearance at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in Japan with Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim has sparked rumors about a budding romantic relationship between the two star athletes.

Garrett, who turned 29 years old last December, just signed a massive four-year, $160 million contract extension with the Browns last March, so whether he’s in the OTAs or not, the expectation for him in 2025 will be high.
In the 2024 NFL season, the former No. 1 pick overall had 14.0 sacks in 17 games.
