Cleveland Browns Make Announcement on Linebacker After Scary Injury in 2024

The Cleveland Browns have been a hot topic throughout the NFL offseason.

While they have a quarterback room that includes five different prospects who could be the starter for Week 1, there's also some drama on the defensive side of the ball.

There was a tragic injury that took place to starting linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Karamoah in Week 8 of the 2024 season.

Owusu-Karamoah went in for a tackle on Ravens running back Derrick Henry, leading with his head. He would go down and have to be carted off the field.

This injury would put an end to the linebacker's season, and it's looking like he won't be seen on the field in 2025.

The Cleveland Browns announced that Owusu-Karamoah will be placed on the physically unable to perform list and miss the entire 2025 season.

"Jeremiah has the full support of out team, and we expect him to continue to be a part of the organization even though he will not return to the field this year," Browns General Manager Andrew Perry took to X on Monday.

The linebacker was drafted out of the University of Notre Dame in the 2021 NFL Draft (52nd overall) and led the Browns in total tackles in 2023.

Although it is a huge blow to the Browns' defense, it's most important to put a player's health before getting them back on the field too fast.

Cleveland drafted linebacker Carson Schwesinger with the 33rd overall pick in last month's NFL Draft and also signed veteran Jerome Baker to help fill the key role left by Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.
