The Cleveland Browns are making a change to Huntington Bank Field for the 2025 season. Fans coming to the stadium will get a different look, noticeable at midfield. The team is bringing back the helmet logo at the 50-yard line.

So ends the time of Brownie the Elf at midfield. For many fans, the switch is a nod to nostalgia and gives the team a bit of a reset. The Browns are set to start another season in a competitive AFC North.

While it may seem like a small change on the surface, it also shows that presentation matters in professional sports, especially with traditions and fanatical fans.

The franchise in Cleveland has a long history of changing up its field design. Huntington Bank Field used to be called FirstEnergy Stadium. For several decades, the Browns used the orange helmet logo at midfield, featuring simple but effective branding.

In 2022, the team brought in Brownie the Elf, a character tied to the team since the 1940s. While it was a unique touch, many considered it a little too bold compared to the helmet look.

On the field, the Browns have plenty of question marks under head coach Kevin Stefanski. Joe Flacco is going to get the start at quarterback, but the franchise has two rookies behind him on the depth chart. One of those rookies is former Colorado Buffaloes star Shedeur Sanders.

The Browns start their 2025 campaign at home at 1 p.m. ET Sunday as they will take on the in-state rival Cincinnati Bengals. Cleveland has missed the postseason in three of the last four seasons, winning just three games in 2024.
