Going in Thursday, the day the 2025 NFL Draft is set to begin, the Cleveland Browns had 10 picks to their name.
That was until the Browns decided to execute a trade that you don’t see all too often with NFL draft picks.
Of course, the Browns made the move with the Houston Texans, the same team that gave them Deshaun Watson, which was the worst trade in NFL history.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Browns sent a 2025 sixth-round pick (No. 179 overall), a 2025 sixth-round pick (No. 216 overall), and a 2025 seventh-round pick to Houston for a 2025 fifth-round pick (No. 166) overall, and a 2027 fifth-round pick.

Coming into Thursday, the Browns had four picks in the sixth round alone. This is a clear move where Cleveland is simply moving the picks in an effort to move up. They only get 13 spots higher than their previous sixth pick at No. 179, but they pick up an additional draft pick for the future as well.
These trades are ones that you don’t see take place until during the draft normally. This could be a sign that the Browns aren’t done yet and more is set to come.
Cleveland is set to pick at No. 2 overall tonight and many believe that Colorado WR/CB Travis Hunter will be the pick.
