CLEVELAND, OHIO (TheOBR.com) - Good morning, Cleveland Browns fans!

THE DAILY BLOVIATION

Hulu dropped the trailer Tuesday for "The Land," a scripted drama about a fictional version of the Cleveland Browns. Dan Fogelman, the "This Is Us" guy, created it. Christopher Meloni plays Danny Roarke, a head coach on his last chance whose fate rests on a rookie quarterback out of Ohio State who happens to be his son. William H. Macy plays the owner, Hal Durkin, who has to decide which of his two daughters takes over the team. It premieres Feb. 15, the day after the Super Bowl, per ESPN.

The NFL is a co-producer. They even had Roger Goodell walk out at the draft in Pittsburgh this spring and announce Connor Roarke as the first overall pick, for the cameras.

Macy told Deadline back in January that the scripts are "Shakespearean." He also said this: "And what if Cleveland starts winning? Because I think our team is going to do better."

Shakespearean is right. I've just never been sure which kind. Sometimes comedy, sometimes tragedy. No iambic pentameter. But it’s been repetitive enough to think the Bard was rewriting his greatest hits all along.

The last time Hollywood tried this was Draft Day in 2014, which had Kevin Costner running the Browns' draft and walking out of it looking like a genius. That's what we call fiction.

This and that from the unscripted version...

JEUDY, AVAILABLE: The fictional Browns took a quarterback first overall. The real ones spent first- and second-round picks on receivers this spring. Jordan Schultz says it's "pretty well known around the league" that Jerry Jeudy is available, despite protestations from the local media, who seemingly believe Browns front office execs. “We’re not looking to trade Jerry Jeudy” often translates to “we haven’t gotten the right deal yet”.

Schultz says the Browns want something in the early third- to fourth-round range, per NFL Trade Rumors. Schultz isn't sure they get it, and neither is Pro Football Rumors. Neither am I. Jeudy has eight catches for 81 yards in five games. Two years ago he made the Pro Bowl with 1,229 yards, after the Browns got him from Denver for a fifth and a sixth. If somebody offers a fourth, I'll drive the paperwork to New York myself. The deadline is Nov. 10.

The aggregator crowd already has him linked to the Raiders, which turns out to mean a CBS Sports writer put Las Vegas on a list of possible fits. That's what "linked" means now. My legendary “Crap Pile” category of article links grows every day. Someday I’ll confess as to which sites are on it. For now, just assume that it’s most of them.

My favorite detail of the day: the unofficial depth chart the Browns put out for the Ravens game still lists Jeudy first at receiver.

Alrighty, then.

ESTIME, OFFICIALLY: Audric Estime is on the 53 off Minnesota's practice squad and will wear No. 36. Raheim Sanders went on injured reserve with the hip he hurt at MetLife and will miss at least four weeks, per Cleveland 19. That also takes away their primary kick returner, who was averaging 29.3 yards a return, per PFT. TE Devin Culp and G Vershon Lee joined the practice squad, and CB Myles Bryant and WR James Proche II were released from it, per ClevelandBrowns.com. Jack Duffin tells me that Proche likely made over $15,000 from practicing a few times, which is nice work if you can get it.

Kmack34 asked about Estime in Ask the Insiders, and Jack Duffin reminded everybody that a practice squad signing means "he's here for three weeks." Then the part everybody actually cares about: Estime "Hasn't done much pass blocking since entering the league but what he has done on a limited sample is better than the atrocious pass blocking from our current backs."

Faint praise has rarely been so specific.

NOT YET, SHEDEUR: Mary Kay Cabot, on cleveland.com's Orange and Brown Talk podcast (no relation, though I appreciate the tribute), isn't ready for a quarterback change: "The time that you turn it over to Shedeur Sanders is when you know you're not going to the playoffs." Dan Labbe's marker is 5-5 at the bye. Albert Breer told 92.3 The Fan the same thing in fewer words. Scott Petrak's analysis lays out Sunday's mess: 15 of 33, eight sacks, hit 13 times, at least four drops, and rain all afternoon. Todd Monken: "I've seen our best, and our best is good enough."

Pete Smith weighs in this morning under a headline that doesn't leave a lot of suspense: No, Deshaun Watson Won't Get a Contract Extension from the Cleveland Browns (VIP). Read it. It’s good.

THE WILDCAT CAUCUS: Same show, different idea. Cabot would give Taylen Green, the 6-foot-6 third quarterback who runs a 4.36, a package of plays: "I would try to be creative with him and do some Wildcat stuff," which is something our guys have been saying virtually since the moment he was drafted. The catch is the game-day roster spot that it would cost somebody else. Chris Easterling's three questions in the Beacon start with the run game. Everybody's questions start with the run game.

Give the big kid five plays. What's the worst that could happen?

(Don't answer that.)

RAMS WATCH: Fallout from Monday night in L.A., where the Rams lost 37-34 in overtime to Buffalo and dropped to 2-3. Sean McVay: "It's been a while since I've been this pissed after a game too," per Bleacher Report. Harrison Mevis is gone, and Blake Grupe is playing off the Jets practice squad, but McVay says, "There are no changes that are gonna be made" with special teams coach Bubba Ventrone, who did three seasons in the same job here, per PFT. Left tackle Alaric Jackson got two games for punching Bradley Chubb after the game, and McVay expects him to appeal. The Browns own the Rams' 2027 first-rounder. I enjoyed all of that more than a grown man should.

RAVENS INVADE: Baltimore comes to Huntington Bank Field Sunday at 1 p.m. on FOX at 4-1 and is suddenly very comfortable in close games. With Lamar Jackson out, Tyler Huntley brought them back from 23-15 down in the final minute in Atlanta and won it 30-23 in overtime. Kyle Hamilton told his teammates that ever since he got there, "that's a game that we would lose." Pete and Joe do some looking forward on the OBR YouTube channel: Baltimore Ravens Invade.

THANKS, BEN: ESPN's Ben Solak, in his seven things column this week: "I might think... the Jets are going to be good." He also notes it "took a Cleveland special teams turnover to get it done." I'd prefer the Jets stay bad (but not so bad that they grab a good QB in the draft), and I'd really prefer we not be the evidence.

BERNIE'S DAY: Tuesday was officially Bernie Kosar Day in Cleveland, on the anniversary of his first regular-season start back in 1985, and the Browns posted a Happy Bernie Kosar Day clip. This site had his name on it for a few years, and I already got sentimental about it last week. I reserve the right to do it again.

THE DAY YOU RETIRE: Of all the people who exist on the planet, I suspected for a long time that the one I had least in common with was cornpone, gee-golly breadcaster and ex-Steelers annoyance, Terry Bradshaw, 78. Then, he said to NBC News Daily: "I realize my time on television as a sports broadcaster is coming to an end." He also quoted Billy Graham: "The day you retire is the day you start dying." He's signed through two more Super Bowls and figures he'll be 80 when it's over, per Awful Announcing. He's still a Steeler, so I'm contractually obligated to say something mean. I'm doing my best, but as a man who writes this column before sunrise for fun, I'm with Terry. Hope I’m still able to do this in 2040.

QUICKLY: Jack Duffin's 2027 roster prediction moves on to the tight ends, and given this week's blocking conversation, that's good timing. John Kosko breaks down every sack from Sunday (VIP). All eight of them. Joe has the Week 6 college QB prospect tracker. Sam Penix has a film room on Emmanuel McNeil-Warren (VIP). In Ask the Insiders, Jack thinks KT Leveston could get back to the 53 over Zak Zinter now that Austin Barber has moved from tackle to guard.

And finally. Between Bernie and Terry Bradshaw, this has turned into the column where we all get older. At least we’re all together while we do it.

Have a good one! GO BROWNS!

Italian Bio-methane Plant Comes Online, Providing Renewable Gas to Over 3,000 Homes

Down in Grottole, in the instep of the Italian boot, the energy company Axpo has switched on a plant that turns agricultural leftovers from local farms into biomethane, a stand-in for natural gas. Once it finishes ramping up it'll produce 45 gigawatt-hours a year, about what 3,200 Italian households use, and avoid around 9,000 tons of CO2 annually, per Good News Network. Italy gets 46 percent of its electricity from natural gas and produces almost none of it at home, so making the stuff out of farm waste is a neat trick. Humans are clever when we’re not being stupid.
