Cleveland Browns open to trading Shedeur Sanders?

The Cleveland Browns’ crowded quarterback room has sparked fresh questions about whether Shedeur Sanders could become a trade option.

NFL insider Jeremy Fowler reported that Cleveland was among three teams carrying four quarterbacks that could welcome a deal before the trade deadline. Fowler wrote that the Browns “would probably welcome a deal at the right price” for one of their backup quarterbacks.

That wording does not specifically identify Sanders. However, the former fifth-round pick serves as Deshaun Watson’s backup and has yet to see meaningful regular-season action. Cleveland also has Dillon Gabriel and Taylen Green behind Watson, creating a rare four-quarterback situation.

The Browns have already faced questions about how they will manage that depth once their entire quarterback group becomes available. For now, the question is whether Sanders is the backup Fowler had in mind, or whether Cleveland could consider trading another quarterback.
