Cody Latimer threatened to 'kill everybody' after poker argument?

Over the weekend, Washington wide receiver Cody Latimer was arrested on multiple charges, including assault in the second degree.

It appears the alleged incident occurred after a poker game turned ugly.

On Monday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reported that Latimer was consuming alcohol during a poker game early Saturday morning. Per the story, Latimer got into an argument with at least one individual, and Roderick English, Latimer's friend, dismissed the pair and everybody else from his home.

However, Latimer returned to English's residence a half-hour later. Latimer reportedly pulled out a handgun, waved it around, and threatened to "kill everybody." Latimer later emptied the magazine and then allegedly fired two bullets toward English before allegedly striking English with the weapon.

Harvey Steinberg, Latimer's attorney, offered the following statement to ESPN's Adam Schefter:

"There's an entire back story to this situation that constitutes one of the most highly provocative situations you can imagine. Please withhold judgment until all the facts of what took place that night are known."

Per Klis, Latimer faces five charges, including assault, illegal discharge of a firearm and reckless endangerment.

The 27-year-old played for the Denver Broncos from 2014 through 2017 before spending the next two seasons with the New York Giants. Latimer signed with the Redskins in late March

On Saturday, the Redskins released the following statement shared by ESPN

We are aware of the situation and have informed the NFL League Office. We will continue to gather more information and have no further comment at this time.
