Colin Cowherd has Bold Take for Cam Ward and the Tennessee Titans

Fox’s Colin Cowherd is all-in on number one overall pick Cam Ward transforming the Tennessee Titans in the 2025 NFL season.

The Titans, coming off a 3-14 campaign, seemed to have found their new signal caller, who ended his college career with 156 touchdown passes, setting a new NCAA Division I record.

The former Miami quarterback is viewed as the solution to Tennessee's offensive problems after setting single-season program records in 2024 with 4,313 passing yards, 39 touchdowns, and a 67.2% completion rate.

Cowherd declared today on The Herd that Ward is someone who can change a franchise.

“There’s four people, and only four in my opinion that will change outcomes,” Cowherd said. Number one is Cam Ward, Tennessee.”

Cowherd pointed towards the struggles of Will Levis in 2024, where he had 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions through 12 games. They averaged 18.3 points per game, which ranked 27th in the league.

“They were so hard to watch offensively where even in games where they outplayed teams, Tennessee was so bad at quarterback with Will Levis,” Cowherd added. “They lost games where they out-physicaled, out-schemed, and out played teams.”

At 6 '2 and about 220 pounds, Ward brings excellent size mixed with athleticism that allows him to make plays outside of structured plays. That ability alone gives him a chance to be elite at the next level.

“Cam War is accurate, moves, and coachable,” Cowherd said. “I mean Miami has had some good quarterbacks, he broke all the Miami records.”

The Titans have been looking for ways to improve their offensive line throughout the last couple of seasons. Their revamped offensive line started with drafting Peter Skoronski in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft and continued into 2024 as they selected JC Latham number seven overall.

The franchise also signed former Pittsburgh Steelers left tackle Dan Moore Jr. and brought in Kevin Zeitler, formerly of the Bengals and Lions, to occupy the guard position.

With a stronger offensive line and a new quarterback who tends to score a lot of points, Cowherd has very high expectations for the Titans in 2025.

“There’s a history of this league when guys come in without a lot of stars and without a lot of pats on the back, nobody’s pandering to them, that’s jet fuel. I think Cam Ward changes outcomes, I think Tennessee is going to be a playoff team.”
