The college football coaching carousel has continued to gain traction, following the end of the 2024 regular season.

Several college football programs across the country were quick to make changes after Week 14, with one of them being the Conference USA's Florida International Panthers.

According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, the Panthers have fired head coach Mike MacIntyre after three years with the program.

Florida International finished the 2024 regular season with a 4-8 record, ranked as the No. 6 team in the Conference USA standings.

MacIntyre took over the program before the 2021 season. He led the Panthers to a 4-8 record in all three seasons.

The buyout for MacIntyre is expected to cost the Panthers $1.5 to $2 million.

MacIntyre signed a contract extension with the program in 2022, which was expected to keep him in South Florida until 2027.

He's now on the coaching carousel, holding an all-time record of 54-81 as an FBS head coach.

Before accepting the head coaching role with the Panthers, MacIntyre had a couple of head coaching roles: Colorado from 2013 to 2018 and San Jose State from 2010 to 2012.

He also spent time with a powerhouse program like Ole Miss in 2019 as the defensive coordinator and in the NFL landscape, serving as the defensive backs coach of the New York Jets in 2007 and the Dallas Cowboys from 2003 to 2006.
