Jason Witten was a longtime staple of the Dallas Cowboys as a tight end. Now, his son, Cooper, is earning major interest from college programs.
Cooper Witten, who is a linebacker in the Class of 2027, has garnered interest from programs such as Baylor, Tennessee, Oklahoma, LSU, Arkansas, SMU, Michigan, Oregon and Texas A&M, among others.
In March, it was reported that Cooper Witten had set visits at schools including Michigan, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Clemson, Texas Tech and SMU, among others.
On Thursday, he took to X and showed his latest offer, which came from the Texas Longhorns football program.
"Blessed and grateful to receive an offer from the University of Texas. @CoachNansenUT @CoachK_FBCoach @CoachSark," Witten wrote on X.
Per On3, this marks the 14th program to offer Witten.

Witten plays at Liberty Christian High School in Argyle, TX, so staying local could be a factor for the son of the former Cowboys star.
TCU, SMU, Texas Tech, Baylor and now Texas are all in-state schools that have offered him thus far in his recruitment process.
Meanwhile, Tennessee is where his father played college football, so that could be another intriguing piece to think about.
Per On3 rankings, Cooper Witten is ranked as the No. 1 linebacker in the Class of 2027, the No. 19 player in the nation and the No. 5 player in Texas, so this would be a massive get for Steve Sarkisian's program, although it's still early in the process.
