Indianapolis Colts All-Pro left guard Quenton Nelson has cemented himself as one of the best players at his position since he entered the NFL via the 2018 draft but was looking at a potential shift to left tackle after starter Anthony Castonzo retired in January. That move became unnecessary, however, after the Colts signed Pro Bowl left tackle Eric Fisher to a one-year deal last week.
Per Jim Ayello of the Indianapolis Star, Nelson said Monday that he is happy he's staying put on the club's offensive line and looking forward to blocking alongside Fisher:
Quenton Nelson on idea of playing LT: "I definitely wanted to stay at LG, but I was going to do whatever the team required me to do."

On Eric Fisher: "I was really happy with getting Fish. He's a great guy. Just meeting him a couple times before this, then today. He's smart; he's a good player. He's been in a good system with KC. Really excited to get to work with him." https://t.co/xJ6dLmaKN3

Fisher suffered a torn Achilles playing for the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game and missed the Super Bowl loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As Myles Simmons wrote for Pro Football Talk back on May 1, former Los Angeles Chargers tackle Sam Tevi may start for the Colts at left tackle until Fisher is ready to face live defenses.
Tevi signed with Indianapolis in March.
