Colts CB Stephon Gilmore on Week 1 tie vs. Texans: 'I was ready to go to double overtime'

Soon-to-be 32-year-old Stephon Gilmore just started his 11th NFL season but apparently, he experienced a first during his Week 1 debut with the Indianapolis Colts

After entering the fourth quarter trailing 20-3, the Colts stormed back to tie things at 20 and force overtime, but that's how things stayed, as neither team scored during the bonus frame.

That's where Gilmore's confusion evidently set in.

The 2019 AP Defensive Player of the Year agreed to a two-year, $23 million deal with Indianapolis in April, after spending the 2021 campaign with the Carolina Panthers. Gilmore was limited to a career-low eight games last season and recorded 16 tackles, two interceptions and two passes defended.

The five-time Pro Bowler was on the field for all 70 defensive snaps through regulation and overtime on Sunday and finished with three tackles.
