Colts Emerging As Potential Trade Suitor For Eagles’ AJ Brown
Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

As the NFL offseason continues to draw near, all but eight teams are already focused on free agency and the 2024 NFL Draft. One of those teams is the Indianapolis Colts, who saw their season end up brutal fashion against the Houston Texans. Now, they’re focused on getting into the playoffs next season.

Thankfully, there are a lot of reasons to be excited about the Colts. First and foremost, rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson showed major promise in very limited time this year. He’ll be back healthy to start next season.

Another reason is that the Colts have opportunities to make major moves this offseason. At the top of that list should be finding a true No. 1 target for Richardson.

That weapon could come in the form of Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver AJ Brown. There are thoughts that Philadelphia could trade him this offseason after it was clear that there were issues between the two parties this season.

According to Bookies.com, the Colts have emerged as a top potential trade suitor for Brown. Currently, they rank No. 2 in the odds of teams that could acquire Brown.

Adding a weapon like Brown to the Colts’ offense would take them to another level. He would immediately give Richardson a superstar talent to work with. The Colts will also have a free agency decision to make on wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr., and many believe that they want to re-sign him.

If the Colts could trade for Brown and re-sign Pittman, their passing game would be almost impossible to defend.

Brown is coming off of another big season with the Eagles, racking up 106 receptions for 1,456 yards and seven touchdowns. He did not produce a ton down the stretch, but neither did the rest of the team.

All of that being said, this is certainly something to keep an eye on. If the Eagles opt to trade AJ Brown, the Colts will likely be very interested in acquiring him. The move would make too much sense for Indianapolis not to pursue.
