The Indianapolis Colts and QB Anthony Richardson have mutually agreed to seek a trade, his agent Deiric Jackson told ESPN on Thursday.
Richardson was the 4th overall pick in the 2023 draft, but he’s only started 15 games for the Colts due to injuries.
After four starts as a rookie, Richardson appeared in 11 games in 2024, but lost the starting spot to Daniel Jones last season.
He then came off the bench in two games before fracturing an orbital bone during warmups ahead of Week 6.
During his three-year tenure with the Colts, Richardson recorded 11 touchdowns and 13 interceptions with a 50.6% completion percentage.
While lingering injury woes and passing inconsistency have been areas of concern, he’s still only 23.
The team told reporters Thursday that he continues to progress towards a return to the field.
With a relatively thin free agent market for QBs, it’s likely that several teams will be interested in adding him to their roster.
