Colts QB Daniel Jones Receives $400K Update After Win Against Raiders

Daniel Jones and the Indianapolis Colts took a chance on one another this offseason as the former New York Giants flameout inked a one-year $14 million deal. While once viewed as a risk, the deal may turn out to be one of the best moves of the offseason.

After beating out former No. 4 overall pick Anthony Richardson for the starting role, Jones has quickly emerged as one of the top-performing quarterbacks in the NFL. Following Sunday's 40-6 rout of the Las Vegas Raiders (1-4), the Colts moved to 4-1 on the season.

The win is also forcing plenty of folks around the league to question if it was the Giants who were in the wrong and not Jones.

In the win, Jones completed 20-of-29 passes for two touchdowns, and even earned himself an early-season bonus.

According to Spotrac, Jones had a stipulation in his contract that if he were to win four games and play at least 50% of the snaps, he'd earn $400,000.

While this caveat indicates that they may not have expected him to play all that much or expected him to burst onto the scene like he did, Jones is $400,000 richer and the Colts are sitting atop the AFC South.

They will have a prime opportunity to secure their fifth win next week, as they'll host a struggling Arizona Cardinals team.
