The Indianapolis Colts are beginning their teardown with their season seemingly over.
The Colts are trading Pro Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks, according to multiple reports. Tom Pelissero of The Ringer said the Colts will receive a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick in return.
Trade! The Colts are sending eight-time Pro Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seahawks for a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick, sources tell @ringer @netflixsports. https://t.co/O1EN6vHWSF

Nelson is the first big trade chip to go for the Colts, who appear to be surrendering following their 2-5 start to the season. The six-time Pro Bowl guard is in the final year of his contract, so the Colts are essentially getting something for him now instead of risking losing him for nothing at the end of the season.
A first-round pick in 2018, Nelson has spent his entire career with the Colts. Durable and effective, he has been an anchor for Indianapolis’ offensive line, and the Seahawks will hope he can help bolster the team’s run game with Zach Charbonnet set to return soon.
As for the Colts, they may have more moves coming. One high-profile name is drawing interest, though it remains to be seen if he will ultimately be traded.
