Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. leaves practice with an injury
Jenna Watson-USA TODAY Sports

The Indianapolis Colts took the field on Wednesday for their 2nd off-season workout of the year.

And while multiple positive updates were shared during the team's practice, the main headline is a huge negative. With Colts star WR Michael Pittman Jr. having to leave practice early with an injury.

Pittman Jr. is known for how tough of a player he is, so him having to leave practice caused many to worry. The first positive sign from this situation to me was his ability to leave the field on his own power. And during this stage of the offseason programming, any form of injury will probably end a player's day. It's just not worth the risk of pushing guys too hard so early.

Colts head coach Shane Steichen was asked post practice about Pittman Jr.'s injury, and he gave a positive report.

Steichen shared that Pittman Jr. and Jaylon Jones bumped knees during their collision, and the most important line there being "should be fine." So, at this time, it looks like the Colts and Pittman Jr. avoided any major injury, which is a sigh of relief. But if the incident causes Pittman Jr. to be in pain during the short term, it probably means we won't see him on the field in the coming weeks during the rest of the team's OTA offseason workout practices.
