Commanders Announce Historic Bobby Wagner Development on Sunday

Bobby Wagner and the Washington Commanders are taking on the Miami Dolphins in Week 11 of the 2025 NFL season. It's an international game, taking place in Madrid, Spain, at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

Throughout the season, the Commanders' defense has been a weakness, ranking 29th in points allowed per game (28) heading into Week 11. Despite the overall troubles, Wagner, a 10-time Pro Bowler, remains a model of consistency.

Going into halftime, Washington held Miami's offense to just six points, allowing two field goals. The 35-year-old linebacker finished the first half with three total tackles, all of which were solo.

Going into the game, Wagner already had 99 tackles on the season. Those three helped him reach the triple-digit mark, something the linebacker has already done plenty of times.

However, it also made history. The Commanders announced Wagner has recorded 100-plus tackles in 14 straight seasons, which is tied for the most in NFL history.

It tied London Fletcher, whose 14 came from 2000 to 2013. Seven of those seasons from Fletcher came with Washington.

For Wagner, this streak dates back to his rookie season with the Seattle Seahawks. Of the 14 seasons, two have come with the Commanders, one with the Los Angeles Rams and 11 with the Seahawks.

Even at 35 years old, he produces at a high level. Going into the matchup against the Dolphins, he had also recorded two sacks, six stuffs, one interception and one pass deflection.

Despite this only being his second season with the Commanders, Wagner has made a big impact. After he re-signed with the team this past offseason, head coach Dan Quinn called the move a "no-brainer."

As a one-time Super Bowl champion and six-time First-Team All-Pro selection, Wagner has put together a career worthy of consideration for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
