The Washington Commanders are officially eliminated from any hopes of the playoffs, and now they must prepare for the offseason.
They still have four games remaining on the season, and all of them are against NFC East rivals. The stretch kicks off on the road against the New York Giants. Despite the ugly performances every single week, there are still a lot of storylines to watch, but will you be able to?
When: Sunday, December 14th, 1:00 p.m. ET
Where: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey
Head coach Dan Quinn has already ruled quarterback Jayden Daniels out for Sunday after doctors advised he sit for a week. While we continue to watch how the team handles Daniels' injury, there's still plenty to watch for on the roster that needs an overhaul.
The season-ending injury to Zach Ertz means the team has to turn to both Ben Sinnott and Colson Yankoff to step up and show what they can do for the future of the tight end room. They have four games to make an impact before the Commanders look for their next TE1 in free agency or the NFL Draft.
The defense has a handful of players who need to improve to survive the defensive overhaul this offseason as well. After getting blown out by an awful Vikings' offense, there isn't much hope to hang onto. Quan Martin, Mike Sainristil, and Johnny Newton need to show something on tape as young pieces on the roster for the new defensive coordinator. Veterans like Frankie Luvu and Daron Payne could be playing for their futures, whether it's a contract extension or a trade.
