Pro Football Focus highlighted several Commanders players for their exceptional performances on defense (minimum 20 snaps):

• Defensive end Daron Payne: Overall defensive grade of 73.2, run defense grade of 68, tackling grade of 69.1, pressure grade of 67.3. Recorded one pressure and one sack on 37 snaps.
• Linebacker Frankie Luvu: Overall defensive grade of 70.4, run defense grade of 52.8, pressure grade of 83.4. Logged four pressures, one sack, two quarterback hits, and one hurry on 55 snaps.
• Safety Quan Martin: Overall defensive grade of 69.2, tackling grade of 83.6. Recorded four tackles on 49 snaps.
• Cornerback Noah Igbinoghene: Overall defensive grade of 68.2, tackling grade of 76.6. Allowed three receptions on four targets and made two tackles on 53 snaps.
• Defensive tackle Sheldon Day: Overall defensive grade of 65.6, run defense grade of 67.9. Recorded one pressure on 20 snaps.
