Offseason workouts are the installation and familiarity phase of preparations. Ben Standig from The Athletic provided a bullish outlook on Washington's cornerback unit, which he believes could be vastly improved next season if everyone hits their required targets. Standig highlighted Marshon Lattimore's return to health as a big reason behind his optimism. The additions of Jonathan Jones and second-round pick Trey Amos should also allow Mike Sainristil to move back inside, which is where his skills are best suited, despite thriving on the boundary during his rookie campaign.
