Commanders Get 'Good Sign' On Jayden Daniels' Status Tuesday

With Monday night's loss, it's increasingly looking like the Washington Commanders may not be a playoff team this year.

Dan Quinn's team is mere months removed its NFC Championship appearance against the eventual Super Bowl champion Eagles. However, injuries to key positions and an untimely holdout from one of the Commanders' biggest stars has really hurt football in D.C.

But if Tuesday's news is any indication, things could be picking up for Washington's offense — at least in the case of quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Jayden Daniels' availability moving in right direction

Daniels was sidelined for last night's 28-7 loss to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs — marking his third missed game of the season.

The reigning NFL Rookie of the Year has been dealing with a hamstring injury and was held out of all three practice sessions last week. But that seems to have changed ahead of this Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks, per his coach.

“He had a good rehab session on Sunday,” Quinn told reporters at Tuesday's press conference. “Team’s back out at practice tomorrow and we plan on him being a part of that.”

As ESPN's Adam Schefter notes: that's a "good sign" for the star QB as Washington's season hangs in the balance. And fans are certainly hopeful that this will be the week Jayden will be able to give it a go in primetime.

Fans hopeful for Daniels' return

"Finally some good news for Washington," a user said.

"If they want to salvage the season..." another commented.

"Finally welcome back JD5," a fan posted.

"Hasn’t been Daniel’s year so far. Hope he turns it around," another person replied.

"Unfortunately for Washington, the defense is still a—, and they’re the last team in the division… gonna be tough going forward," another user pointed out.

"Adam, if Jayden's back slingin' today, let's hope he torches Seattle and flips this 3-5 mess into a wild card run " another fan shared.

Daniels is officially listed as questionable for Week 9's NFC battle. In limited action this season, the second-year signal-caller has thrown for 1,031 yards, eight touchdowns and one interception with 211 yards on the ground and an additional rushing score.
